Pat McAfee is liked by many but also disliked. On The Pat McAfee show following the 2025 Royal Rumble McAfee spoke briefly about how the fans are responding to Jey Uso winning the Royal Rumble, comparing it to a situation similar to his.
McAfee went on to say “Everytime I come back to the WWE I feel honored, I feel lucky, I feel so damn thankful that they ask me to come back.” alluding to WWE always forgiving his outside commitments and bringing him back when the timing works for him.
McAfee went onto allude to WWE Employee(s) not always being pleased about his part time status as well.
You know, they say look at this part timer, part timer, part timer. Ok, they come after me and I understand it, hey look – I’m a wrestling fan so I completely understand where you’re coming from. I used to feel this way as a child as well when I was watching along. I’m very lucky that I get to be a part of WWE so anytime I get asked to come back I love it, and I try to sell every single night how much I love being there, but a lot of the diehard wrestling fans attack me for it, also some of the employees of WWE attack me for it and that’s kind of the way it is.
It’s clear that WWE see’s McAfee’s contributions as positive otherwise they wouldn’t continue to bring him back.
McAfee did not mention any specific WWE employee having an issue with his part-time status on his show.
