Recently WWE Smackdown switched from airing weekly episodes on Fox and made a move to the USA Network. WWE Smackdown on USA moving to three hours was something that had been rumored and is now confirmed via Wrestlevotes radio.
It had been mentioned previously that after the WWE Bad Blood Premium Live Event, WWE Monday Night Raw would be switching from three-hours to two hour format for the remainder of it’s time on the USA Network; this raised many questions on whether Smackdown will be taking over the three-hour format with USA that Raw previously held. Direct quotes from the Wrestlevotes radio are below:
Before we move off of SmackDown, our first real WrestleVotes tidbit here, as we get going on this Backstage Pass regarding SmackDown, is that we have learned that starting on the January 3 show 2025, SmackDown will indeed shift to three hours.
The other big news here is there are rumors that once the show ends, it will be available on Netflix, which we haven’t heard elsewhere. Those are the internal talkings right now is that probably the day after Smackdown will be available on Netflix.
“But the real nugget here is that starting January 3, that show will be three hours.”
Also in other WWE day after streaming right news the deal between WWE and Hulu had expired for next day streaming rights. Rumors as of this writing are that the next day streaming rights for Raw and Smackdown will be going to Netflix. While not confirmed, we will keep you updated on if we have received official confirmation of this, or with any news in relation to next day streaming rights for the shows once we receive them.
